Basqueland Brewing Project • Spain
Basqueland Brewing was founded by three American expats with a shared dream: creating beer on par with the Basque culinary experience. Starting as gypsy brewers in 2014, the trio quickly established a loyal following, opening their own brewery outside San Sebastian just one year later. Since then Basqueland has quickly grown into one of the most recognizable Spanish breweries in the European craft community, well-regarded not only for its west coast-style pales and IPAs but equally so for its range of kölsches, saisons, kettle sours, porters and stouts. Transcending the craft bar niche, the beers are also served at many of the Basque Country’s Michelin-Starred institutions, as well as Spain’s top tapas-pintxos restaurants, traditional asadors (grills) and even biker bars. Basqueland is now a part of the fabric of the Basque Country, and a trend-setter for the young artisanal brewing scene in the Iberian Peninsula.
