The Monarchy Grätzer
The Monarchy • Germany
The recipe for this unusual wheat beer, created in collaboration with a Dutch brewer and a pair of historians- is based on that of a former brewery in the Polish town of Grodzisk Wielkopolski. This indigenous concoction, made with 100% oak-smoked wheat and local Lublin hops, was called “Grodziskie” – or “Grätzer,” during the years when the town was part of Prussia. There have been other versions, but The Monarchy’s is the only authentic one, using the same ingredients, right down to the original yeast
