Altfränksich (“Old Franconian”) Klosterbier is made from Vienna malt, which is kilned at high-enough temperatures to give the beer a rich amber/red color but not high-enough to add any hint of roastiness .The result is called a “Landbier” or “red “Vollbier”-both terms used to describe the everyday favorite of the typical drinker in Franconia , where more beer is consumed per capita than anywhere else on the planet.
